Path Logger is a personal diary application that enables incorporation of media with text and share part or all of the items with different audiences.
I have been traveling around the world and wanted to log my trips, incorporate media and share the content with different audiences. Let's give some details on these requirements:
Many travelers use Instagram as a platform to share their trips. In Instagram, you present up to 10 media items and text below them. You can't organize it as a diary (see image above) .
In addition, in Instagram you have 2 groups (friends, closed friends). I needed many more:
First, I want some parts to write for myself. For example, names of people I met, location details and just use it as personal diary,
Then, there are stories and media which I want to share with my partner. For example, gossip.
There are stories and media to share with the family but not with all.
Above that, when I climb, I want to share some details on routes with my climbing friends. On trips, with my trip friends etc.
So I noticed that I want to share with 5-6 different groups and each one should see different slice of the trip log.
Lastly, I wanted to print the path log (the old way..) and wanted to export all the blog to companies which their expertise is album printing.
I tried a few application and couldn't find one that satisfied me so I decided to develop it myself.
As I'm a veteran, I do it for the fun, give it to the world and will keep it always for free!
First version (current version):
In order to avoid any responsibility on users information I don't use any server and all the data is saved on the user' Google Drive. It means that every user must have Google Drive account! In addition, the security (who sees what) is performed by Google Drive.
When you login, Google will verify that you allow tha app to access all your Google Drive. However, the app only access PathLogger Drives, under your own name and under shared folders. There is no way to indicate to Google to restrict the app to these folders only and that's why a full access is needed. Nevertheless, PathLogger only access PathLogger folders and not other folders.
The user get an additional advantage as they own all the data!
The app use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
